Who Can Apply
The High School Scholarships are awarded to seniors are residents of Benton County or who are graduating from a Benton County high school and will attend OSU full-time (12 credits/term) or full-time dual enrollment at LBCC and OSU with at least 6 credits per term at OSU in the fall of 2015. These scholarships are made possible by the work of the OSU Folk Club Thrift Shop in Corvallis. The principal criterion for this award is academic merit.
Applications must be filled out using a computer or written in black or blue ink. Applications are available on the website (http://oregonstate.edu/osufolk/scholarships) or at Benton County High Schools and the OSU Folk Club Thrift Shop, 144 NW 2nd St., Corvallis.
The following items MUST be submitted together in one complete application packet. Staple this sheet (cover sheet with instructions) to the application. Failure to include all items will disqualify the applicant.
- Resume, following the format given.
- A one-page, typed essay, in which you reflect on your attitudes, values, and experiences as you share something that has been particularly meaningful in your life.
- Two references, from a teacher, employer, counselor, or community member of your choice. Each reference should include the attached Scholarship Reference form and no more than one extra page.
- A copy of your most recent high school transcript. This must include your Fall Semester grades.
